Material Systems LLC operates Gavel. We collect the minimum needed to run meetings, and we don’t sell any of it.
Account emails and password hashes; the roster names and titles your clerks enter; the meeting record itself (motions, votes, minutes). Members join by link or PIN — we never require member emails or phone numbers.
Published meetings, minutes, and your organization page are public — that is the point of the product. Anonymous ballots never store who voted which way.
Transactional email is sent via our email provider. Hosting and encrypted backups run on our infrastructure providers.
Organization owners can export or delete all data (purged 30 days after deletion). A member’s name can be removed from the historical record on request to your clerk (“tombstoning”) without falsifying vote tallies.
